THE BLOOD SPEAKS!

In the Book of Genesis we read that a man named Cain had a big problem with his brother Abel. He became so angry that he killed his brother!

Cain thought that no one saw his despicable deed. He thought he had gotten away with his sin. He thought that the lack of a body would serve to distance himself from Abel disappearance!

God told him, however, that He knew about his cover up. He then said these words to Cain, “I heard your brother’s blood crying out to me!”

The Bible declares that life is in the blood.

If there is no blood…. there is no life!

Blood oxygenates our bodies.

It carries nutrients, fights disease and discharges waste.

I knew the blood reached my limbs, organs, tissue and muscles.

I knew that blood reached my mouth.

But I didn’t know that the blood had a mouth!

I have a dog whistle on my iphone.

I can press a button and a sound is emitted but you can’t hear the frequency of the sound that is being emitted.

But while you would sit there like nothing is going on, my dogs ears will stand straight up because she hears what you can not hear.

When the blood cries out and God says He can hear the blood.

I speak to those of you who feel like you’ve been mistreated, been neglected and have been over run and overwhelmed.

I speak to those of you who have struggled and battled but feel like the devil is winning and has you down on the canvas and is counting to 3!

I speak to those of you who are fighting in for your relationships and those who are struggling with cancer.

“No weapon formed against you shall prosper!”

When you think you have been left behind. When you think that you have been left alone. When you think you have been forgotten.

You have an advocate!

You have a voice that speaks on your behalf!

It’s the blood!

Cain thought he had the last say, the final word.

He took his problem into his own hands and he thought he had settled his issue once and for all.

He killed his brother and now he could go on with his plans and his life. He figured he had gotten away with his murderous actions.

But the blood has the last word. The blood prevails. Thank God for the blood!

The blood of Jesus is stronger than cancer. The blood of Jesus is stronger than diabetes. The blood of Jesus is stronger than the afflictions of the flesh.

You can pray the blood of Jesus over your finances, over your church, over your marriage, over your children and over your house!

The blood speaks for you!

When I get in a battle or endure hardship I come out smelling like a rose! It’s all because of the blood!

The blood of Jesus can change your heart!

The blood of Jesus can make you spin around on a bar stool. It can cause you to walk away from an illicit lover’s arms. It can make you put down your dope. It can make you keep your promises. It can clean up your language.

When the devil comes after you…. You can plead the blood of Jesus!

When people talk bad about you…… plead the blood!

When you are spitefully used and abused..… plead the blood!

The blood will deliver you!

The blood will bring you out!

The blood will lift you up!

It’s hard for me to talk about the blood of Jesus and not feel better!

It’s hard for me to think about the blood of Jesus and not feel God’s strength!

There is power in the blood!

Would you be free from your burden of sin?

There is power in the blood!

There is wonder working power in the blood!

You don’t have to speak for yourself.

You don’t have to fight on your own.

You don’t have to go it alone.

The blood speaks for you, it strengthens you and undergirds you!

When Cain killed his brother and Abel’s blood spilled onto the ground, the ground had no voice. It had no ability to speak. It had no purpose in speaking….. until the blood touched it!

I remember the day when I was lost in my trespasses and sin.

I had no voice.

I was living on my own and in my own strength with no voice and no purpose.

But one afternoon in my preacher’s office, while sitting there with my dad, I opened up my mouth and confessed my sins and asked Jesus to come into my heart.

It was right then and there that the blood of Jesus touched me!

That which was dead came alive and he (me) who had no voice began to speak.

Out of my mouth came the confession of my soul and every since then the blood of Jesus began speaking for me. …. and now through me!

There is power in the blood!

The blood still speaks!

Power

Acts 1:8 (NIV) But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.

The word “power” used in this verse is the Hebrew word “Dynamis” which means “to be able, power, ability, achieving power.”

When the Holy Spirit came, He gave us power – the achieving power to really fulfill what God is asking us to do.  The Bible says that we are called to do greater works than even Jesus did and because we have Holy Spirit power – that is something we have to achieve.

We have the power to speak, to heal, to cast out demons.  We have the power to love beyond our flesh.  We have the power to change this world for Jesus Christ.  We just have to choose to exercise our power.

For too long, we have held a powerless mindset, a mindset that keeps us victims to our circumstances in our lives.  But we aren’t called to just sit back and watch life happen.  We have POWER (the ability, achieving ability at that) to do something about our circumstances and situations.

You might not have had any power over what happened to you.  But you do have power in how you respond to it.  You are called to be an overcome.  Its within your grasp.

The Bible says:

Luke 10:19 (NASV) Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing will injure you.

Matthew 16:19 (NIV) I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven; whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.”

These two verses show that you have power over the enemy.  What you pray carries power.  You have authority in the spirit realm.  You are not powerless.

Some of you have been pushed around long enough by the devil for long enough.  You have been beaten up too long.  It’s time today to choose to take your authority in Christ.  It has to be with His help or you can’t beat it, but all you have to do is CHOOSE IT!  And you can overcome anything and be victorious.  It is your choice.

That anxiety – YOU HAVE POWER OVER IT.  The depression that haunts you – YOU HAVE POWER OVER IT.  Your thought life that has been overtaking you – YOU HAVE POWER OVER IT.  Your bad attitude – YOU HAVE POWER OVER IT.  You have the ability to get out of the rut you are in and be the winner you are called to be.

Don’t expect anything from the Holy Spirit if you aren’t willing to do your part.  You’ve got to activate the power inside of you to get up and do something about your situation.  But when you do – The Holy Spirit comes in and comforts you, aids you, teaches you, and takes you to a whole new place of victory.  You can trust Him.

The power that the Holy Spirit has given us is not some anemic form of mundane Christianity where you having to go through the motions just to get by.  It’s the power to be who you are called to be, do what you are called to do, and overcome everything that tries to come in your way.  Its time that you start using the power that is within you to live the victorious life you are called to live.

Know God For Yourself!

I have had the privilege of traveling to many beautiful places around the world.

I love to travel to places I have never been before.

I enjoy experiencing new adventures.

Whenever you return from new adventures and experiences you try your best to relate those experiences to your family and friends. Sometimes it is very difficult to properly convey what you have seen and done.

You simply have to say….. You would have had to have been there!

To fully experience or understand what I saw or did you would have to experience it for yourself.

How can you relate adequately the experiences of the Swiss Alps, The Italian Amalfi Coast, South African Safari’s, The Holy Land, The Far East or even the beauty of Alaska or Hawaii?

The truth is ……  I don’t want to be relegated to hearing the wonderful experiences of others. I want to experience them for myself!

When it comes to your experiences and adventures with God, He never intended for you to have to hear what He is like through the experiences of others!

God never intended for you to simply hear someone else’s story.

He doesn’t want you to just see the pictures.

He wants you to experience Him for yourself.

He wants you to encounter His presence.

He wants you to engage in His power.

God can be approached.

2 Cor. 3:16-18  (NLT) But whenever someone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. For the Lord is the Spirit, and wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.

Listen to the words of the Apostle Paul:

I Cor. 2: 1-5 (NLT) When I first came to you, dear brothers and sisters, I didn’t use lofty words and impressive wisdom to tell you God’s secret plan. For I decided that while I was with you I would forget everything except Jesus Christ, the one who was crucified. I came to you in weakness—timid and trembling. And my message and my preaching were very plain. Rather than using clever and persuasive speeches, I relied only on the power of the Holy Spirit. I did this so you would trust not in human wisdom but in the power of God.

Don’t merely go after an experience!

Go after God!

In Genesis 32: 24-30, we read the story of a man named Jacob that had a personal encounter with God.

Three things happened in that story that can happen to you.

1)   God will give you a new strength.

Jacob became an earthly limper, but also a spiritual powerhouse.

2)   God will give you a new identity.

Jacob received a new name. The old things in his life were done away with a new future was established for him.

3)   God will give you a new joy.

With a God-given strength and with a God-given new identity, you receive a God-given joy!

Ps. 16:11 You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of Your presence and the pleasures of living with You forever.

WHERE THERE IS NO PASSION, THERE IS NO POWER!

WE NEED PASSION!

Where there is no passion, there is no power!

Proverbs 4:23 “Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.”

The enemy is trying to steal something from you that you can’t see!

Passions must be restored!

Psalm 23: 1-3

1   The LORD is my shepherd,

         I shall not want.

    2   He makes me lie down in green pastures;

He leads me beside quiet waters.

    3   He restores my soul;

He guides me in the paths of righteousness

         For His name’s sake.

How can there be fulfillment if there is no passion in your life?

The passion that causes us to achieve has to be strong enough to make us uncomfortable. It has to be intense enough to cause us to want to overcome obstacles that are set between you and your desires.

Simply stated, “You must want it bad enough to survive the process required to attain it!”

It doesn’t matter so much what it is that you want so badly. You might desire a good marriage, a ministry, a business, children or an education. It could be… whatever!

There will always be hindrances that you have to overcome!

It is the force of your personal passion to achieve that gives you the strength to break down the walls between you and the things that you desire.

Jesus is our prime example!

He had a cross between Himself and His goal.

The cross was not the end but the means! He didn’t enjoy the means but He enjoyed the end! He endured the means but His passion was for the end!

There is an intense discomfort associated with passion and desire. It is not always pleasurable, as most think, but it sometimes involves suffering. It is an intense, unquenched desire that gnaws at the fibers of your being. It motivates us to action and fulfillment.

Have you ever noticed that God will use some of the most wretched sinners to do great things in His kingdom?

These are people who have at the core of their character a sense of passion and acquisition. These people were at one time a little misdirected. They possessed, however, a burning desire, that if bridled and directed properly could make them people of great accomplishment.

The devil wants desperately to keep you pursuing worldly goals. He knows that if you ever line up your passions with God’s purpose you will become a spiritual dynamo.

There will be no stopping you until your passion is fulfilled and your eternal destiny is accomplished.

Don’t ever resent your passion! Control it, yes, but don’t ever kill it. Without it you will be as limp as an overcooked noodle and as bland as hospital food. God created you to be spicy, zesty and full of life!

Put your passions in God’s restoration program!

Remember, however, passion sometimes creates suffering.

Some people want to feel no pain and therefore will not even struggle to achieve any goals or dreams. They become trapped in lukewarm bodies and live in mediocrity. They may live in a nice house, buy a few cars, have a few kids and go through the motions of life, with no real passion. They are safe from failure because they never get out on the long limb of life.

I feel like God is speaking to someone right now who has quit or you are thinking about quitting. I’m blowing a trumpet of triumph into your rigor-mortis filled ear! God has too much for you to do for you to be going through the motions of life!

I can’t spare you tears, fears and traumatic experiences. I can, however, promise you that in Jesus nothing is impossible for you!

In fact, it is the crosses of life that validate your passion! It is what you endure that expresses how deeply you desire something!

Jesus lost His disciples, friends and even His clothes. They still couldn’t strip away His passion. Even when dying, He was still proclaiming His message.

He went through hell to reach the joy set before Him.

When He was finished He got up with the keys to death, hell and the grave!

Death where is thy sting? Grave where is thy victory?

Jesus had as His prize a Church purchased by His suffering and royal blood.

He restores my soul!

Renew your passion!

Revive your desire!

Where There Is Passion, There Is Power!

    2   He makes me lie down in green pastures;

He leads me beside quiet waters.

    3   He restores my soul;
